Magic Wand® Initiative

Engage, Educate and Empower Clinicians to Lead Problem-Based Innovation

Leadership | Resources | Partners

Clinicians are on the frontlines of helping patients, yet rarely are clinicians trained or encouraged to be on the frontlines of medical innovation in today’s health care environment. The Magic Wand® Initiative (MWI) is an innovative and entrepreneurial program designed by-clinicians-for-clinicians that addresses this disconnect by encouraging clinicians to identify and solve unmet patient needs and teaching them the process of innovation. In this model, the clinician takes the lead and is involved in all aspects of the innovation, from identifying the unmet need all the way to commercialization. Another unique aspect of the MWI is that the identified unmet needs are vetted by a large group of expert clinicians who help discuss and analyze the unmet needs that are truly worth solving.
