The Advancing Innovation in Dermatology (AID) Externship Program is designed to facilitate unique educational experiences for dermatology residents, fellows, and early-career clinicians, as well as to enable interested individuals to explore a variety of career opportunities in dermatology product and services development. The Externship Program provides a path to learn about careers in dermatology beyond traditional clinic and academic settings, and has the potential to increase the pool of candidates who are qualified to help advance innovation in the field of dermatology.
The scope of the externship is based on the objectives of the participating organization. Opportunities may be specific to a project, or general shadowing.
The length of the externship is based on the time needed to complete the proposed objectives, as well as the availability of the organization participants and the extern.
The sponsoring organization submits a brief description of the opportunity and any requisites to AID. Prospective externs apply through AID and qualified candidates are introduced to the sponsoring organization.
Dermatology residents, fellows, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career clinicians interested in the AID Externship Program can access the application here
Organizations involved in dermatology product or services development interested in sponsoring an extern can submit an opportunity here
