Jigar Patel, MD
Jigar Patel, MD is a Chief Resident at Duke University Department of Dermatology. He graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School at the top of his class with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. His clinical interests include dermatologic surgery, digital health, quality improvement, and patient safety. Jigar’s current work is focused on minimizing the risk of wrong-site surgery for skin cancers. He was awarded the Duke Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Fund to develop a software application that leverages smartphone camera technology to document biopsy sites and precisely identify anatomic landmarks to facilitate accurate localization of the correct surgical site.
