Olivia Twu, MD, PhD
Olivia Twu, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist who is interested in leveraging innovation and clinical development to improve the lives of patients and their providers. Olivia’s interests in biotechnology and diagnostics stems from her experience in immunology and infectious disease. Prior to her clinical training, Olivia earned her MD, PhD with Alpha Omega Alpha honors at UCLA where her thesis work involved examining the role of parasite exosomes in host:pathogen interactions and parasite:parasite communication. She also spent a year at the NIH understanding the genetics of malaria drug resistance. Olivia hopes to help develop better diagnostics and targeted therapeutics for infectious and autoimmune diseases that affect the skin. Currently, Olivia is completing her dermatology residency at UCSF where she is chief resident.
